This year, the 51st annual Rites of May International festival is held virtually in compliance with social distancing measures. Many of us are fortunate to shelter in place during this time, thanks to the efforts of first responders and healthcare professionals. 

The Rites of May committee, on behalf of the Parents’ Association of the Laboratory Schools, would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to first responders and healthcare professionals for their courage and care during these uncertain times. As an expression of our gratitude, we are pleased to contribute meals to the residents at the University of Chicago Medical Center, the Chicago Police Department 2nd District, the Chicago Fire Department Engine 60, the University of Chicago Police Department, the Lab Safety and Security Team, and Allied Universal staff at the University of Chicago. Their service on the front lines gives our community a sense of peace and security.

Thank you to the Rites of May vendors for providing the meals. These restaurants have been consistent vendors of this annual All Schools’ celebration for the past several years.
